It's a Friday Mini Book

Hi Everyone!!

Sorry about the late post. Wow, life happens alot!!! Ok this will be a short post because life has to happen some more in a few minutes!!! LOL!

I wanted to post this mini book that I made while I was teaching classes at my LSS. This was an actual class that I taught. One of my favorites for sure!! I hope you like it too. I made this mini book using a Maya Road chipboard heart binder. I used Quickutz to cut the title and the chipboard flourish is an Accucut die I think. The book was titled Love is: and inside you put headings on each page of things that are important to you (family, hobbies, pets, etc.). It turned out really pretty IRL.

I used Wild Asparagus paper for the entire book (LOVE that stuff). IRL the flourish on the front is really shiny. I achieved this shine by painting the flourish with Making Memories acrylic paints and putting Versamark Ink on. I poured UTEE onto the flourish and heat embossed. I did this a few times, being careful not to burn the previous layer. It gives such an acrylic look to the surface of the chipboard and a very pretty shine.

The inside of the book is just stamped with flourishes (not sure whose right now) and flowers. I distressed all edges of the book and pages with Distress Ink. I painted the spine with MM acrylic paint and stamped small flourishes on and tied ribbon around it.

I hope you ike my mini book and I'll be back soon with more cards for you to look at, so be sure to stop back by tomorrow. Thanks for stopping by. Be sure to leave me a comment, I love to read them!! Have a great rest of the day and weekend!!

Another Flutterby Wednesday!!!

Happy Flutterby Wednesday Everyone!!

I can't believe it's Wednesday already!! Our challenge for this week was to use yellow and orange on our cards. Along with out challenge, we have a special Guest Designer for this week!! I'm so excited!! I know you have all probably seen the incredible work of this very talented lady (drumroll please)!! LOL! It's my friend, the lovely Janna Hull!!! Yay!! I'm so happy that she is our guest this week and we welcome her with open arms or wings since it is Flutterby Wednesday!!

I also wanted to tell you that you can play along with us by simply making a butterfly card using yellow and orange and let us know that you did by tagging your PCP or SCS gallery entries with FBW46. We want to see your creations so be sure to try our challenge and if you've been playing all along, we hope you're having as much fun as we are!! Please be sure to check out our entire team and leave us some love!! You can find all of our links over on my righthand sidebar. You can also find our links on Danni's blog.

Okay, now for my card! I apologize in advance for the pictures. It was pouring down rain and I just couldn't get good shots. If it clears up, I may try to retake them and edit my post. I used sketch SC213 to create my card. I started by stamping the lovely Ginger by InStyle Stamps on white cardstock. I colored her with my Copics and used blue chalks for my little sky. Isn't this image just the cutest!! I think she is so retro and adorable and perfect for lots of occasions. I used dew drops for accent and I mounted three Prima flowers in the bottom right corner and attached a beautiful butterfly on the flowers. Doesn't it look like the butterfly just landed on the flowers?? I love that!! And look at the Shimmerz!! I used it on the butterfly and the flowers to give a little sparkle, kind of like morning dew!! I think it turned out really well! I like it! What do you think??

I decorated the inside of my card with white cardstock and the floral paper in the four corners. The DP is by Fancy Pants Designs. I didn't put a sentiment on the card because I want to wait and make sure I put the right one on.

Remember, you can play along with our challenge too. Be sure to visit all of the Flutterby girls and Janna to see all of the beautiful creations that we've made. Be sure to leave us some love!! Thank you for stopping by to visit my blog. I hope you'll come back tomorrow to see what I have to show you!! Have a wonderful day!

A Fish Tale for Ian!

Happy Monday everyone!!

First I want to thank everyone for their kind comments about my situation yesterday. I didn't want to give too many details because of the TMI factor!! I should have given blog candy for the first person to leave a comment telling me what kind of testing I was supposed to have this morning!!! LOL I was supposed to have a colonoscopy this morning but it didn't work out!! You can read the previous post for all the details.

Today I have an adorable Ian from the Rock the Farm Set over at The Greeting Farm to share with you today. I was supposed to have this entered into the sketch contest but I didn't quite make it. But I love my card anyway so I wanted to go ahead and post it. I will probably give this to my hubby. He loves to fish and this will be perfect for him.

I started out by stamping Ian onto white cardstock and coloring him with my copics. I chalked a little around the edges of the Ian rectangle and the circle. Look at the little tiny googly eye on the fish!! Is this not adorable? (see next photo for better look). I cut him out and matted him onto blue paper and placed him onto the card front with pop dots. The paper on the card front is Chatterbox. I cut a cute little circle with my nesties and put my little "gone fishin" button on with a glue dot. This is the cutest button ever and perfect with my little fisherman!! I finished off with a cute strip of Bo-Bunny ribbon tied in a knot.

You know you should never leave the inside of your card naked!! LOL so I cut a piece of white card stock and stamped my sentiment from the Rock the Farm set. I also stamped just the little fishes from the Ian stamp and the two heart flowers in the corners (also from the set). I colored all of this in with my copics.

I really like how this card turned out. I think DH will love it as well. What do you think?? Please be sure to leave me a comment and let me know what you think. I love to read the comments and appreciate every single one of you that takes time to stop by my blog to check it out. I will continue to provide you with lots of inspiration (hopefully) and maybe a couple of simple tutorials in the coming future!! So be sure you check back often, to see what I'm up to.

Hugs to everyone and have a wonderful day!!

Happy Sunday!1

Hey Everyone!!

I'm sorry I haven't had a post for you today. I'm in the process of prepping myself for some outpatient testing tomorrow morning, so I 'm not feeling so great. I'm hoping I'll have something for you later. Sometimes the preparations are worse than the actual testing! We shall see. Thanks for your understanding.

Hugs to you,
Cathy

****UPDATE*****

Okay, I won't be having my outpatient tests tomorrow after all. I have been thowing up the "prep" so I can't do it. Hopefully, now that i've eaten a little bit, maybe I can get my card finished and posted. I don't know, I'll have to see.

Hugs, Cathy

Miss Anya's in the House!!!

Hi Everyone

Sorry for the late post, I have a sick child and a migraine. Not a great combination. Lookie what I found in my mailbox!! Ok, it was a few days ago, but hey, life happens!! This is actually my Madelynn's Twinkling Tuesday challenge card MTTSC10. I know it's Friday, but I still think that Madelynn will like it!! I hope you do too!

These little girls are so cute and fun to color!! You can find Miss Anya at The Greeting Farm. If they are out of stock, keep checking back. Marie is wonderful and she will have some in before you know it.

I used these cuties on my card this week in a chocolate/pink color combination. One of my personal favorites! Don't you just love this!! I think it turned out really well. I started out with some beautiful shimmery, Heidi Grace paper. I stamped the girls onto white cardstock and colored them in with my copics. I cut and mounted each one onto brown cardstock. I ceated the sentiment on my computer and put it inside a cute little oval bookplate. So cute!!

I just love this card!! What do you think?? Please leave me a comment. I love reading them.
Please come back to visit. Thanks for stopping by today. I really appreciate you!!

It's Flutterby Wednesday Again!!

Hi Everyone!!!

It's Flutterby Wednesday again and our challenge for this week is to use blues and purples on our cards. You can play along with us by simply making a butterfly card using blues and purples and let us know that you did by tagging your PCP or SCS gallery entries with FBW45. We want to see your creations so be sure to try our challenge and if you've been playing all along, we hope you're having as much fun as we are!! Please be sure to check out our entire team and leave us some love!! You can find all of our links over on my righthand sidebar. You can also find our links on Danni's blog.

Now onto my card!! I made my card this week using a Stampin Up set called Merci. This is a cute set with an adorable sketch butterfly. I kept my card simple so that this image would really stand out since I stamped it in a lovely purple ink.

I used Three Bugs in a Rug DP in really pretty purples and teal blues. I cut our my butterfly with my square nesties and inked some Hero Arts flowers with the same purple ink I used to stamp my butterfly and sentiment. I used blue dew drops in the centers of the flowers and on my sentiment block as well. I made a slit in the spine of my card and tied the pretty blue and brown ribbon on to finish off my card.

I hope you like my card for this week. I would love to hear your comments so please leave me some love if you stop by today. I really enjoy reading everyone's comments. I would also love to have some more followers, so if you want me to tell you when I update my blog, please be sure to sign up today. Happy Tuesday Everyone!!

Hi everyone!!

Sorry I've been MIA the last few days but I've had a sick little one. She's home from school today with an ear infection and sinus junk. Poor baby (ok she's 9, but she's still my baby)! LOL I've also had hubby home for the 3 day weekend and he seems to think that cleaning is more important than stamping!!! GASP!! I know, I'm as mortified as you. LOL. Anywhoo, I'm hoping to be back later today with a card. So please check back later!!

Hugs to all,
Cathy

The Anya Sistahs Rock the Farm!

Hi Everyone!! Happy Valentine's Day!!!

I made this card for the Club Anya sketch challenge. I love my new Rock the Farm set from The Greeting Farm. This Anya is so adorable and fun to color. She's perfect for any occasion. I like these stamps, can you tell?? LOL!

This card was so fun to make!! I used this adorable Reminisce farm animal paper that I've had in my stash. It was perfect for our little farm girls!! I decided to make Anya a sister. She"ll need help to do all those farm chores!! LOL I colored the images with my copics. I cut all my pieces and matted them. I popped them up with pop dots. It was really very simple to make.

A Little Bit of Good News!!!

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to share some good news with everyone today. Good news for me anyway! My LSS asked me to design the March Mini Book Kit for the store!!!! I used to be an instructor and the Make and Take (freebie) Coordinator but I had to quit when gas went up to $4 a gallon since I live 35-40 minutes from the store.

I was very excited!! It's been a long time since I've done a mini book. The last time I designed the mini book kit for the store, it sold out in a matter of a few hours!!! I hope this one does the same thing. I could REALLY use the stamping money, if you know what I mean!!!

Thanks for letting me share. Hopefully, I will have a post for later. Please check back and see what I'm up to. Better yet, you could sign up as a follower and I'll let you know when I update my blog!!

Happy Friday - TGIF!!!

Lily and Billy Visit Flutterby Wednesday!

Happy Flutterby Wednesday Everyone!!

Today is Flutterby Wednesday and my card is serving double duty. I used my Pink Cat Studio Love Challenge card as my challenge card and my Flutterby Wednesday card. Pretty good, huh. I will post pictures of my card, but will try to take some better ones that show off the pretty glitter on my flowers and tiny butterflies. I tried to take the pictures last night, but the light was not right so I'll have to edit my post to show the new photos. Lily and Billy are so cute hanging out in the meadow together!

I used the Lily and Billy Sweetheart set and added a few other elements to make it so cute!! I love these images. They are so sweet and cute!! I used a Whiff of Joy stamp to get my grass and flowers. I used a CC Designs from All that Scraps for my cute little birdies and a set from Our Craft Lounge to stamp my little butterflies. I colored my image with copics and used chalk to blend a pretty blue sky! I also used Glossy Accents on the rose and the hearts on Lily's dress. I also used it on her pigtail holders and her earring. You can see the dimension that the Glossy Accents gives and the wet shine that makes it so pretty. I used my Spica glitter pens to put some sparkle on the flowers. Hopefully the picture is picking that up. If not, I will try to upload some different photos later to show the glitter. I popped the birds and Lily and Billy up on pop dots to make them stand out. I also popped up the entire panel that the scene is on.

You can play along with us by creating a Flutterby card of your own. Be sure to tag it with FBW44 if you upload to SCS or PCP. Be sure that you stop by Danni's blog for more exciting news about Flutterby Wednesday. Be sure to check out the other Flutterby Wednesday team for some amazing creations.

Please come back and see what I'm up to tomorrow! I love to read your comments, so please leave them for me.

It's a Hedgehog Valentine!!

Happy Tuesday everyone!!

I can't believe Valentine's Day is this weekend!! I have such cute Valentine stamps that I haven't gotten to use yet!! What's a girl to do? I guess I could post 3 or 4 times a day until then. Okay I can't, because I can't seem to find enough time to make the stuff that I want to post! So I 'll get to the point.

I did this adorable Penny Black Hedgehog for Valentine's Day. It is such a cute image, I love it!! I colored it with my Prismacolor Pencils and OMS. He was such fun to color! Isn't it great to color images that we love. You get to watch the black and white picture develop into a colorful personality. Anyway, here's my card for today.

I stamped the inside sentiment and used my Martha Stewart scalloped heart punches to decorate the inside.
I hope you like it and will come back tomorrow to see what I have planned for Flutterby Wednesday. Be sure to leave me a comment and let me know you were here. I love to read them.

My Favorite Little Angel Meets Madelynn!!

Happy Saturday everyone!!

I have the sweetest little Angel Anya for my Madelynn's Twinkling Tuesday sketch MTTSC8. I know the key word here is "Tuesday", but I think Madelynn will love it just as much on Saturday. Better late than never, I always say.

I seem to be on an Anya roll lately, but this little Angel is the cutest, sweetest little thing ever and she fit the sketch!! Anya is just the cutest image from The Greeting Farm.

Now for the details. I colored Anya with my Copics and used my nesties to cut her into a scalloped oval. I used yummy Basic Grey paper and if you look closely, you will see the fabulous Shimmerz on her wings and halo. Hopefully, you can see the angelic shimmer in my photos. I think my settings are getting better. I also used pretty purple rhinestones because even Angels need their bling!! I thought the sentiment was perfect for her. I popped the sentiment and Anya up on pop dots for dimension. I also tied a knot with this gorgeous purple ribbon.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today! It really means a lot. Leave a comment if you like and let me know what you think. I love to read your thoughts!

Princess Anya Meets Flutterby Wednesday!!

Happy Wednesday everyone!!! Today is Flutterby Wednesday and I had so much fun making this card! The challenge this week was to use pink on our cards. Wow, what a stretch for me, LOL! I think I use pink on everything!! I decided to make the whole card pink and of course Princess Anya's dress is gorgeous in bright pink! Princess Anya is a fun stamp from The Greeting Farm. LOVE HER!!!

I started my card with a piece of white card stock. I used Our Craft Lounge stamps to stamp that adorable tree, grass and flowers. I colored in the hearts on the tree and flowers with my copics. I pulled out my chalks and made the blue sky and greenish color on the grass and in the tree. I colored Princess Anya with my copics also. I drew in a sign post and put the sentiment on top to make a Valentine sign. I printed the clouds from CC Designs at All That Scraps and colored them with Shimmerz. I love my Shimmerz!! I also used it on the hearts on the tree, the heart on the tree trunk and Anya's crown and wand. (My camera would not cooperate!)

Once my background was sponged on with the chalks, I assembled all the pieces into a pretty little enchanted Valentine forest for Anya!! I used my oval nesties to cut the "sign" and chalked over it with pink chalk. I stamped some little flutterby's over those cute flowers! Fianlly, I used my Martha Stewart punch and punched out a butterfly from glittered cardstock. I folded her wings up and glued only her body to the card.. I popped Anya off the card for a little taste of dimension.

To finish off my card, I put a piece of white card stock on the inside and stamped those adorable flowers and butterflies in the bottom corners and colored them with my copics.

We want to see you play along with us! Make your flutterby card and if you upload to a galley such as PCP or SCS be sure to use keyword FBW43 so we can find your wonderful creation!

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog!! I hope you enjoyed your stay and I hope you will come back tomorrow to see what I am up too!

Pure Glamour!!

Happy Monday Everyone!!

I guess we all survived the superbowl and all that blog hopping!! I feel like a big, blonde frog with tired legs!! Today's card has to be one of my favorite images of all time!! Pretty Head Lily is a digi stamp from The Greeting Farm. She is so glamourous and fun to color. I used my copics to color her in. Take a look:

Isn't she beautiful!! I used some pretty floral dp from Fancy Pants and great flowers from Imaginisce. My sentiment is a Great Impressions stamp. I cut her out with my nestabilities scalloped circle. I used a hole punch to punch holes in the scallops to look like lace. I popped her up with pop dots for added dimension. I added lots of bling and some more cute embellies to make her really shine. I kept my design simple so she could be center stage. I love this image and will be using her again soon!!

I hope you like her and will come back again tomorrow to see what else I've been up to!! I appreciate you stopping by my blog and I hope that I can inspire you in some way!! That's what makes it all worthwhile. Bye for now.
